Kevin was still huddled in front of the fire like Sam MacKee when we
left. Garth stood alone on the beach with his camera. Too me Alaska
never seemed so far away.

Gordin,
Great little report. Thanks. Hope the two brotheres get some nice
weather soon. Hope they learn to get better at judging distances. But,
then I'm sure they will be beyond expert status by the time they hit
Juneau, but especially by the time they return to Victoria down the
outside. That is, if they make it. I hope they do, and in the time they
have alotted and without incident. Did they ever get drysuits? If they
didn't, it could be a long cold spring for them. Alaska might seem very
far away to them too. As fellow paddlers, I'm sure we all give them are
best wishes, prayers, and positive thoughts. And I'm glad you were a
good friend and source of encouragement to them. You better hope they
make it (okay, okay...just a little levity, Gordin!). I'm sure they
will.
