Hi all, I told you before of my breath-powered pump. I've done some testing, some revising and some more testing (in swimming pools)... And had to decide that the idea wasn't so bad, but that a Prijon Seayak contains a hell of a lot of water. Probably I could manage to empty the boat in about 10 minutes, but it's a job you would give your worst enemies. By the way: I never tried to empty a boat with a handpump, although I carry one on most of my trips. Probably it's just as bad. Anyway: I am busy building an electric pump into my boat. The first test started with a bucket of water and a desk full of wiring. It ended in quite a mess when the pump jumped out of the bucket: This baby has power! Building it in the boat is quite a job, sealing the switch, turning a drybag into a battery pack, attaching all of it in a plastic boat, where every hole you drill lasts forever... Happy pumping, Niels. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
