I have NEVER paddled with a group that behaved that way, and hope I never
do!  The only curcumstances under which I would have felt compelled to try
to catch up with a group that obviously didn't give a _hit about what I was
doing, would be if I was clearly the strongest paddler in the group, or the
leader.  Then I would have felt some responsibility for the weaker paddlers.
But since I'm not that strong, I've never been in your situation.

I think someone needs to do some serious redefining of the Club's policies
on how groups should paddler together, and what kind of behavior is
required.
