Should I have continued and caught up to the group? Or was I right in heading off in my own direction? I have NEVER paddled with a group that behaved that way, and hope I never do! The only curcumstances under which I would have felt compelled to try to catch up with a group that obviously didn't give a _hit about what I was doing, would be if I was clearly the strongest paddler in the group, or the leader. Then I would have felt some responsibility for the weaker paddlers. But since I'm not that strong, I've never been in your situation. I think someone needs to do some serious redefining of the Club's policies on how groups should paddler together, and what kind of behavior is required.
