Hi, as a frequent Sikaflex user, some notes: There are different formulations available here: Sikaflex 221 is proposed to be a multi-purpose sealant Sikaflex 291is mentioned as a marine sealant and adhesive, and prooved to give stronger bonds then 221. It is the preferred adhesive to glue skegs (mostly mahogany ) on fiberglass kayak hulls, but I think it does not stick well on polyethylene. I had no great success with polycarbonate either. Please correct me if you have other results. Special formulations (also UV stable) are used for gap filling of teak sailboat-decks. When applying Sikaflex, work with surgical care, as you will easily spoil anything, especially when you use the black stuff. Smoothing of the surface can be done by using dish-washing detergent in water, which allows for touching the surface without sticking to it.
