Good post Dennis and welcome to the list. I recently ordered a Mirage 580. With a custom extra heavy kevlar lay-up, electric pump, custom paint job, extra rudder, and shipping to California she still came in at under $1800USD which is unheard of in the States! Being a larger paddler who needed a tropical long range expedtion boat for fishing and sailing, I felt the 580 fitted my needs. I did have a couple of questions for you Dennis. What do you think of mounting an under deck bag along the inside of the coaming to help with the knee problems when rolling? Another one I have for you is what sail rig did you use? I am looking at the Pacific Action sails from New Zealand right now. Also, for the three Peters who have posted previously on this subject, I greatly appreciated your comments and thoughts.
