Would the visible and financial attention to safety send the public a message that this sport is "too" dangerous. Sure, it's dangerous, as is crossing the street and so forth. But would the people we help be larger than the people we turn off by the over-emphasis on safety? I suppose it sounds strange to be discussing "over emphasizing" safety, but I think it's a fact that you could over do it and give the people the impression that it's a risk not worth taking.
