Since yesterday, I've learned 6 new (to me) names for water; > > Di Hydrogen Monoxide > Hydric Acid > Hydroxyl Acid > Di Hydrogen Oxide > Hydrogen Hydroxide > Hydronium Hydroxide When I met my future bride and went up to Alberta Canada to get married, I had a very New York way of pronouncing the word "water" something like "waddah". She thought it was very amusing to get me into a conversation with her friends and relatives in which I would have to say the word. Being a savvy quick New Yorker, I immediately switched to just calling it H2O. Oh yes we did go through with the marriage and are celebrating our 40th anniversary in June. I am still plotting my revenge on her in the spirit of the old Middle East saying "That he who seeks his revenge in a year's time is acting in haste." :-) ralph diaz *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
