Corpus Christi PaddleFest 5/3-5/02 and Kayak Demo Day: Sunday, May 5, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, will be Corpus Christi Kayak Demo Day at Emerald Beach. This will be at the public beach beside the Holiday Inn at 1102 South Shoreline in downtown Corpus Christi. The public is invited to see and try out a wide variety of sea kayaks. These will be provided by local Corpus Christi kayakers, kayakers from the Austin, Houston, and Dallas/Ft. Worth kayak clubs, Mayan Seas from Mexico, Austin Outdoor Gear and Guidance, and Wind & Wave Water Sports in Corpus Christi. First time paddlers will be assisted with basic instruction and guidance. Corpus Christi offers great kayaking opportunities on Corpus Christi Bay, the Gulf, and the Nueces and Aransas Rivers and kayaking is becoming more popular every day.
