California Kayak Friends is hosting our first ever Paddling Fest on Sunday May 19th. Details are as follows and additional details can be found at the club's web site www.ckf.org. Come join us if you can!! Steve Holtzman Sunday, May 19th - CKF Fest 2002 Come join us at Alamitos Bay, Long Beach for a day of kayaking festivities - open to all! Gear Swap 9:00-10:00 Trade, buy or sell kayaking gear. Classes 10:00-11:00 Attend 15 minutes classes on a variety of kayaking subjects: paddle float rescues, rolling, packing a kayak, paddling a kayak with foam, and more. Competitions 11:00-12:00 Compete in paddle float rescues, rolling contests, and a short backwards paddling race. Potluck Lunch 12:00-1:00 Bring food to share - don't forget to bring tables & chairs. Bay Paddle 1:00-2:00 Enjoy a paddle in the bay with old and new friends. Wearing personal floatation device is required. Directions: >From north of Long Beach, take the 405 south, turn south of the 710, and turn east on Ocean Blvd. From south of Long Beach, take the 405 north, turn south on Seal Beach Blvd., turn right on Westminister Blvd., turn left on Bay Shore Ave., turn left on Ocean Blvd. From either direction, park in the area of 5437 East Ocean Blvd., near the city of Long Beach Sailing Center.
