As a follow up to Chuck's query of ocean temps in the vicinity of Gonzalez Bay, scene of a paddling fatality, the following link is good info: http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/dsdt/cwtg/npac.html Please note that Port Townsend water temps were 47 degrees F on average the first two weeks of April. Port Townsend is directly adjacent Victoria, across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
