Jack, An expert system on hypothermia would be interesting. As a source of information, there have been several extended discussions on the list in the past months that come to mind. As I remember the discussions there were many statements made about hypothermia that would translate easily into rules. One thing to think about is the purpose of the ES. Will this system be one to give the probability of having hypothermia given a set of conditions, will it be one to determine whether a person has hypothermia and suggest the proper treatment, or something else? To see examples of web based expert systems, go to www.exsys.com. Click on the button to enter the site and look at the top of the page for the link to Demos and Downloads. Next select Run Demo systems. There is a variety of types of ES to play with here (including one I wrote a few years ago). I will check with a friend that is very knowledgable of what people have done with expert systems to see if he knows of any work with hypothermia.
