Folks: I just ran short of Shore Adhesive in the middle of a project, and am trying to find more. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have (Mountain View, CA), a local dealer. Are there alternatives that will work just as well for bonding minicell to fiberglass, and, if so, what are they? Also, if anyone knows of a place I can get Shore Adhesive in person in the SF Bay Area (California), please let me know. Thanks, -ashton *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Go to your local hardware store and buy DAP Weldwood Original Contact Cement. Some on this list have been using it with good results for 5 years or longer. I've been using it for two years after reading posts from Dave Kruger. I made test samples of foam/fiberglass, foam/foam, velcro/foam, and velcro/fiberglass and left the samples outside for one full year in the rain, snow, and sunshine. None of the bonds failed. Results in my boats have been just as good. You will save money and your results will be just as good as these so called marine contact cements that cost twice as much. I like to use several coats on each surface. After your first coat wait about 20 minutes then apply another coat. I like three or four coats. Use a disposable 1 1/2 inch paint brush so it goes on fast. Do this outside so you don't kill valuable brain cells.
