I bought a used kayak a year or two ago that had all its scratches and
gouges filled with P-tex.  The seller described its previous owner as
"the mercurial sort" who didn't like scratches in his boat.

The boat is red, but he used black and white P-tex.  Looks pretty
strange.  He also did a poor job of cleaning/scraping the drips and
overfilled cracks.  I scraped it and wet sanded the boat with a
random-orbital sander, and then passed a propane torch over the
surface. Quite smooth now.
