G'Day,

If any of you are ever in Sydney, Dennis Maina and I paddle from a place
called the Spit about 10km by kayak from the harbour bridge and the opera
house. We've got a spare double, a Klepper and possibly a SOT, plus there is
a kayak shop 100 meters away and a good variety of paddling around the
harbour varying from quiet beaches to tranquil bushland to cosmopolitan to
"Cup o'Tea" conditions near cliffs, depending on what you enjoy. Not much
wild life but you have a very good chance to see a fairy penguin (they are
tiny), possibly a sea eagle or two and if you are extremely lucky a dolphin
or a small shark. I've never seen a whale in the harbour but once in two or
three years they might visit. Power boaters here are well behaved. Jet
skiers got banned for being bad. There are hot showers, a licensed
restaurant and hamburger joints at the put in and coffee/tea shops on many
beaches. Ya gotta be tough to paddle in Sydney!!

Dennis reminded me to mention that conditions are quite warm here so dry
suits are not needed. On the other hand waterproof sun cream and hat
protection, even in winter, are as mandatory as a dry suit would be in
Alaska!!

We'ld be delighted to arrange transport and show you around!

All the best, PeterO and Dennis
(Sydney Australia)

I agree with you.

We find similar conditions in Mexico both in the Pacific and the Gulf of
Mexico. Few animals, good climate, no wet suit, risk of insolation, maybe
not so good facilities, a little bit more natural or less developed.

I am 7 hours of any of the two and always ready to go out under the
smallest excuse, like the obligation of being nice to visitors.
I have kayaks to lend and knowing in advance if anybody is coming, chances
are good that we might meet you in places like Manzanillo, Vallarta,
Mazatlán, Veracruz or Acapulco, and choose a paddle trip that will suit you
tastes and capabilities, even if we sit on a rock to watch you do fancy
maneuvers.

We are farther appart from Yucatan and CanCun, but soon we´ll have some
boats there to lend.

Wish you a nice paddle.
