The Geodesic Airolite construction method is the brainchild of Platt
Monfort of Maine.  Essentially, you build a lightweight frame of spruce
or cedar (glued with epoxy, not lashed), and use kevlar roving as
diagonal bracing.  The hull is heat-shrunk dacron and waterproofed with
polyurethane.  Super light, and tougher than you'd expect.
