They are really light and narrow enough that they might work =0D in a boat with a smaller hatch. =0D =0D You might make your own canister with a larger diameter pvc pipe with one= threaded end and one with a glued cap. It might not be as bear proof as= the commercial ones, but would keep most critters out.
