[Paddlewise] FYI SeaKayak died last Weekend during race in Bay of Fundy (NB, Canada)

Hi folks,

I thought a long time if I should pass this information on.....

Sad news in today's newspaper (Herold/Halifax) about a fatality in 
the sea kayaking part of an adventure race last Saturday in New 
Brunswick.  Hypothermia claimed another life. 

On the CBC website you will find an article with some details, and it 
is worth listening to the audio file from the radio broadcast for 
some other interesting points.

A lot of open questionsn not only the common ones regarding skills 
and gear (not answers in the article)!  Were was the safety boat, so 
that fishermen pulled him out after 1 hour in the frigid water??
