I hate to go over this undelicate topic again but.. some of the comments said that plastic bag systems were not okay because the waste treatment facility can't handle the plastic bags. Conversely, disposing of human waste in a landfill is considered hazardous waste. So if one uses a boom box and dumps the waste in a RV waste facility without a plastic bag that would be okay? Using a boom box at an RV dump is very acceptable. Your system should have a hose end fitting and a large flexible tube for out flow. You seal your boom box, screw in the hose and put the large flexible tube in the waste dump. Let the water run until the boom box is cleaned out. Take a toilet brush and bleach and finish your clean-out. Still a bit messy but not too bad. No plastic bags in the RV dump. I have resorted to dumping a boom box directly into the waste dump once or twice when there was a malfunction, definitely not recommended. If you are near a popular white water rivers they sometimes have scat machines where you strap in buckets and clean your box. They are really nice systems just about mess free. FS has been trying to install them on the popular overnight white water rivers. I am used to using these systems since I have done so many raft trips. -- MZ *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
