This isn't the voice of experience... just a thought. May or may not be practical. While sleeping, if you are wearing shoes, socks, long pants and long sleeved shirt, try using duct tape or good rubber bands to seal the cuffs and sleeves around the wrists, pre-treat those clothes with Permethrin before departing on the trip, then get a $1.50"ish" head net. Wear a thin pair of gloves for hand protection. Also treat the head net and gloves with Permethrin. Again, I've not done it - others might have and may declare it a poor option, but it's something to consider "just in case". The additional weight and volume is negligible. The permethrin cots about $7 US (depending on brand and where you get it) and is supposed to do 2 sets of cloths treatments which last 2 weeks and through several normal washings. C'ya Rick - Who wants to (but my girls begged me not to) wear a head net while getting bleacher butt at their softball and soccer games, where the fields butt up against marshes. I went to school with many of their parents .... they already know I'm a geek so nothing lost :-) *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
