<<<I'm thinking of purchasing a flare gun for our upcoming trip as I'm
tired of buying sky blazer flares and then having to fire them off or
dispose of them after the expire date, and of course by that time half
of them are duds. Also, where would a person find some clear poly bags
that would be used to line our food stuff sacks. Garbage bags and
kitchen catchers are to lightweight and tend to tear and you can't see
in the bloody things. Comments appreciated.

I use a lot of the Ziplock heavy duty freezer bags for various purposes.
The kind with the resealable plastic zipper are flawless. I double or
triple them up if I need too, for extra waterproofing. Other than that,
there are companies who make clear food storage bags in various sizes. I
forget which company, but they were a well known gear brand. have fun on
your trip. DL
