Hi folks, I thought a long time if I should pass this information on..... Sad news in today's newspaper (Herold/Halifax) about a fatality in the sea kayaking part of an adventure race last Saturday in New Brunswick. Hypothermia claimed another life. On the CBC website you will find an article with some details, and it is worth listening to the audio file from the radio broadcast for some other interesting points. http://nb.cbc.ca/template/servlet/View?filename=mh_kayak060302 A lot of open questionsn not only the common ones regarding skills and gear (not answers in the article)! Were was the safety boat, so that fishermen pulled him out after 1 hour in the frigid water?? Ulli Ulli Hoeger Dept.
