I have a Garmin 725. Waterproofing seems to be very good which one of the main things I was after. I do not carry it in a case but rather inside my PFD and it is underwater on a regular basis. So far, no problems. One time after having it in the water for a significant amount of time I had to dry a few drops out of the battery compartment (as is mentioned in the user manual) but the electronics are completely sealed and performance was no effected. Audio quality suffers from the waterproofing but is adequate. It is all push button control which is great when wearing gloves (no little knobs to try to turn!).
