Jim, Thanks for your reply. Do you find the Cable Cove site safe for vehicle storage for several days? Also, have you explored further east of Hazel Creek? Do you mind if I contact you back channel for additional info in the future, so I don't clutter other PW'ers mailboxes? We come from relatively close areas--Grand Rapids, MI here. I get to the windy city a few times each year--always make a stop at the Chicagoland Canoe Base (I think that's the name).
