Hi, P'Wise. Anybody using or have comments on the ewa camera casings? The web site can be reviewed at the following; http://www.ewa-marine.de/English/e-start-photo.htm My purpose would rarely be to dive with it. I own an Ewa case for my Nikon Coolpix, and it works fairly well but the controls are a bit akward to use and you can't see out of the viewfinder very well. Depending on your camera the viewfinder can be blocked by the lens ring. Some of the better camera stores carry the EWA you might try one on your camera before you purchase one. I also own a Canon s30 digital with waterproof case. I like it much better but it only fits with the Canon s30 or s40. The Canon s30 is great but expensive $400 or so, and the case is another $160. If you like film you might consider a waterproof camera, Minolta makes the weathermatic it's about $280 for the camera, the EWA will cost you $120 to $150. The weathermatic will go down to 30 to 35 feet. You might find some deals on used Nikonas. Ilkelite makes custom cases but they are usually much more than the camera $700 and more. If you want to go cheap they have throw away underwater cameras that have reasonable pictures at shallow depths. The Ewa is resonablely priced but it has some limitations. -- MZ *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
