[Paddlewise] Drip Rings for Greenland Paddles

I recently put a couple of turk's head knots on my Greenland stick. I used
3/16" nylon and cut the ends off short.
They work very well, and "trip" at least 75% of the water that runs down
the blade.

The problem is I put them only about 8" down the shafts/blades from where I
normally grip the paddle. This means they tend to drip on to the spray
skirt, and the water runs into my lap anyway. Keeps my hands a bit drier,
but about the same everywhere else.

So, if you try this, make sure you locate the ring well down the shaft,
where it will drip on the deck, not on the skirt.

Rob.
