If I recall, Roger Schumann and Jan Shriners book has a good description of the curl rescue. BTW, that maneuver with the paddlefloat under your arm and lifting the bow looked pretty impressive. I've tried a paddlefloat assisted lift a few times but haven't managed to get the boat lifted that far out of the water. How does it work in rough water? In all the self/assisted rescue practice and instruction that I've done I've noticed that different people have varying degrees of success depending on their body style.
