Amazing design, and well-described at this site: http://www.rtpnet.org/robroy/pakyak/index.html Completely impractical for all but the tamest of waters, and not for full-size guys, but what an exercise in design! No affiliation ... just ran across this thing. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). I think it's really great! You have to admire the thought that went into it. I'm not being snide at all in bringing this up; but there's a contest mentioned in The Mother of All Maritime Sites, wherein you manufacture boats out of cardboard. I'm sorry....but it just came to mind when I saw this. Anyone out there ever compete in this? They are thinking of doing it again next year. A number of teams each designed and built their vessel and then one member had to paddle it in a race out and round the end of a jetty and back to shore. A couple of sheets of corrigated cardboard and miles of wrapping tape (sticky), scissors and craft knives (box cutters), a few felt-tip pens and a bit of arm waving. The winning team made qite a few tightly rolled beams and stuck them in strategic places.
