Hi all, Later on this summer my girlfriend and I are driving south from Vancouver, and our friends are driving north from San Francisco with a plan to meet halfway for a few days of camping on a beach. I was wondering if anyone on the list could recommend a great campground on the ^ÓSouth Coast^Ô that would offer some interesting day-paddles and surf? Thanks, ~~Eric~ Vancouver, BC *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Cape Blanco State Park is an nice place to camp - nice sites near a 300 ft. bluff. I believe it is the western most point in Oregon. There are some interesting looking haystacks just to the North, but I have not paddled there. I'd like to on my next trip down that way. Has anyone else? Let me know how it goes... =20 Paul *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Cape Blanco is actually the western most point in the US, not including AK. The bluffs around Blanco and south to Port Orford are all wonderful paddling. The clapotis when big seas are running is amazing. My wife and I did a paddle out from Port Orford one winter, a bunch of years ago, when a 12' west sea was running. It made for some fun rides along those cliffs! There is a couple RV parks, one in Bandon and one in Port Orford, that we OK. I don't remember much about Cape Blanco State park. steve *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
