Interested in tales of Klepper kayak use? I've just begun re-reading John McPhee's superb "Coming into the Country," his 1976 nonfiction account of Alaska and Alaskans. McPhee is a long-time contributer to New Yorker magazine. The account details river trips in Klepper singles and a tandem down rivers in the Brooks Range. Fishing, grizzly bears, rigors of kayak paddling and maintenance, developer-conservationist battles--it's a great read. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
