hello there, it's me, kcd, long-time member, committed lurker. my husband and i recently rescued a wonderful dog from our s.p.c.a. she's a 6-year-old husky/lab/shepherd mix of about 80 lbs. of course we want to take her kayaking. we have a keowee II and i have ideas about how to train her to be comfortable sitting in it, etc. there is a guy who lives near me who we often see out at china camp, a wonderful area of the north part of san pablo bay (which is part of san francisco bay) who takes his large standard poodle in the forward hatch of his mark twain, which is a kiwi/kopapa plastic boat. do any of you take your dogs kayaking in your (rec) boats, and if so do you have any tips? thank you, kcd ps despite the title of this post, i don't actually expect the dog to do any paddling, unless she falls out. keeping even that tub of a keowee II stable if she does that should be an adventure. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
