As a dedicated gun runner for many years I confess to using most of the
McManus techniques at one time or another, but rifles are easier to deal
with than kayaks. Easier to toss in a closet or safe. My wife doesn't
swim. She will approve of any double I wish to buy or construct and if a
single happens to come with the double that's OK. I'm working on it, and
so far my interest has sparked her to actually ask me to teach her how to
swim. She wants to swim because she wants to kayak. This is great coming
from a woman who left permanent fingerprint in a rental double the first
time I took her out. It may take some time to generate real interest but
once you take someone out a few times, it seems to take on a life of it's
own.
