Last August a friend and I paddled into the local navy base and paddled all around the ships, right up close, and had a great few hours exploring. Last week we were immediately accosted by a patrol zodiac (pleasant navy person though) and asked for military i.d. (neither of us had any) and were followed for a while, and then told to stay 100 yards away from everything, still followed - this placed us very close to frequent traffic in and out of the small harbour so we left. We were not totally surprised, but still, it was a dramatic change.
