We fly with our two Feathercraft K-1's frequently. I always just nest the four-piece aquabound paddles in the kayak bags. The spare goes in the gear bag with the pfds, masts, tent poles, etc. More than 30 flights and never a damaged paddle. It's never occurred to me that the paddle actually gets heavier as the day wears on! Obviously true, as water collects in the blade section.
