Please edit quoted material in addition to removing header/trailers when replying to posts.] Jim, Bracing with a GP is a lot like with a euro in most respects, except that a standard high brace is more of a forward stroke than with a euro, and it is normal to use a slightly extended paddle. You can brace just as effectively, and even a little better with practice. You also extend for a low brace, and "kiss the deck", to get your center of gravity lower. If you're good at bracing with a euro, it'll take about 10 minutes to learn how to do it with a GP. There's no "off" side, and no missed braces because of feathering. That's the main difference. Try one for a few months, and then take a lesson. You might like it. At the very least, you'll have another option to keep things interesting.
