Hello,
My name is John.
I'm new to this list and I'm sure to annoy you with the same old
questions...But...

Is there an archive (I didn't find a link on the web page) of past
digests? Perhaps I can avoid re-asking recently covered topics.

In general:
My wife and I are novice>beginning>slightly(?) intermediate paddlers. I
guess.
We have taken:
-4 week-long trips to Catalina that included paddling using ride on top
Ocean Kayaks.
-A day trip while in Alaska on a fiberglass tandem around an island near
Ketchikan
-A two trip in Tamales bay in fiberglass tandem boats (and 12+ knot winds)
-We borrow a friends boat (plastic double) for a little ocean fun on very
calm days
-We have been on a number of (up to) class4 river rafting trips Deschute
and American rivers (3 forks).
-We own an inflatable lame "double" that is not keeping us happy.
-We are dive masters and really like the water.

So, more specifically. I found a couple of Ocean Kayak "Pro SI" line boats
that we can afford - about $600. Would those keep us happy as we progress?
Most use would be what seems to be called day touring in the Northern
California Pacific Ocean waters. All reviews I've found on internet seem
to be positive, but that does seem to be the case for every boat I've
reviewed.

Any tips would be helpful. Yes, I did read the FAQ on the web page.
If this annoying perhaps an off list reply is best.

Thanks for your time,
John
