I agree and I was also advised from other kayakers regarding the advice "You don't have the freedom of movement of your arms and torso in a full style wet suit; as you do in a Farmer John." No-one I met had used a full wetsuit. I have also found a standard 3mm wetsuit throughout to be too thick for paddling for me, that is 3mm in the chest and arms are too thick. This was obvious from my "land trials". As much as I wanted to keep the 4/3 mm I ordered as it is warmer for my windsurfing activities, it would never do for paddling - as I expected with 3mm in the arms and flexible areas from other experience. Are there any experience with using a 3/2mm full wetsuit for paddling? I will be trying a full 3/2 BodyGlove wetsuit (3mm in the chest area and 2mm in the areas like the arms or as BodyGlove states - 3mm neoprene at insulation spots and 2 mm at flex point as it was okay in "land trials". Contact me next June 2003 for better results as I am in the dry suit now as I live in Minnesota -and I am a transplant or non-native and the water is cold for me. I have used a BodyGlove 3/2mm shorty wetsuit (short sleeves) without any rash problem. This is what gave me the ideal for the 3/2 mm full wetsuit (and the item became available at Sierra Trading Post). And again, if the full 3/2 BodyGlove wetsuit does not work for paddling, I will be using this for windsurfing - when I can stand the cooler water with a wetsuit and I want to save the dry suit for paddling. I have two goals for this wetsuit and it will definitely work for the windsurfing side. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
