He planted peas, corn and other grains as an expression of faith and hope - and to test crop expectations in the New World. Sorry John isn't around Paddlewise much anymore to fill in the gaps on this story (miss his "stories" I do), but suffice it to say canucks were first for Thanksgiving tradition (even if they were Elizabethan euro's). And we make better beer too, not to mention better kayaks and canoes, spectacular scenery, true pristine wilderness and universal health care - and unfortunately suffer with a decrepit Priminister and continual US media disrespect, you know, eh.
