Come to the Lower Columbia Canoe Club's October presentation and meet a
most interesting and inspiring local boater. In 1987, at age 61, Karl Adams
undertook an amazing kayak journey; paddling across the United States, from
Astoria Oregon to Miami Florida. He spent 6 months completing the 5111 mile
trip - paddling 4761 miles on a series of rivers, intercoastal waterways,
and bays, and walking his kayak 350 miles over the Continental Divide, from
Lewiston, Idaho to Helena, Montana.

Karl has been kayaking for about 50 years and has paddled and sailed all
over the world. He's still very active- competing in this year's dragon
boat races and just finishing Paddle Oregon's 100 mile trip down the
Willamette.

Come see Karl's beautiful slides and hear the entertaining stories of his
cross country adventure. For more information and directions, visit
