G'Day, The statistics were just published for the 111km race. 428 boats, 612 paddlers (singles, doubles, quads and one outrigger boat with six paddlers). 81 withdrawals throughout the night. Fastest time overall was 8hrs16m for a VK4. Fastest time for a single "Medium sized recreational" was 9hrs 22m. The small time difference between racing and recreational is probably because many of the recreational boats are built for speed and wouldn't really work as sea kayaks much less a touring sea kayak. Sea Kayaks don't have a class of their own yet in this race so its difficult to work out how many were there also the "Broklyn or Bust" classification doesn't specify the boats.
