Note that acetominophen (Tylenol) is not an anti-inflammatory, like ibuprofen. It is just an analgesic (relieves pain), it doesn't reduce swelling. Quite a different drug altogether. The concerns voiced earlier regarding use of Ibuprofen in endurance conditions are well-taken. Proper hydration is very important when taking these drugs, and I can imagine adverse trip conditions requiring 'marathon' levels of exertion. And I can imagine emergency conditions that might give cause to inflammation injuries, the need for extreme and prolonged effort, and call for the use of non-drowse effect medication. Still, 99.99999% of the time I'm paddling and might need to pop an Ibu or three I'm not paddling at that extreme level. And small weight and size combine with that use percentile to make it a must have. -W *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
