Note that acetominophen (Tylenol) is not an anti-inflammatory, like 
ibuprofen.  It is just an analgesic (relieves pain), it doesn't reduce 
swelling.  Quite a different drug altogether.

Right so. That's why it goes into my kit.
The concerns voiced earlier regarding use of  Ibuprofen
in endurance conditions are well-taken. Proper hydration
is very important when taking these drugs, and I can imagine
adverse trip conditions requiring  'marathon' levels
of exertion.  And I can imagine emergency conditions that might
give cause to inflammation injuries, the need for extreme and prolonged 
effort,
and call for the use of non-drowse effect medication.

Still, 99.99999% of the time I'm paddling and might need to pop
an Ibu or three I'm not paddling at that extreme level. And small weight
and size combine with that use percentile to make it a must have.
