Frank,

Rob's book is an excellent starting place. He has paddled the entire coast
from Monterey to Mexico. He and some friends are working on the remaining
west coast and I'm not sure how far they have completed.

As a paddler in LA, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties, I use Rob's book
frequently. There are none better!

You could also check with the San Diego Kayak Club (do a Google search for
the address) and a great kayak shop/outfitter is Aqua Adventures who can be
a source of some great info as well.

Wish I could join you!!
