G'Day, Just got back and saw a heap of debate on the gravity topic - saw several credible reasons why it takes energy to work against gravity in moving forward over a wave - thanks. This reply is late because I was down south being taught that it sometimes takes less energy to roll under a breaking wave than climb over it. Came face to face with a jelly fish while upside down in the surf - blew that roll!! :~) But what a discussion!! Thanks everyone - especially Matt, Nick, Niels and Melissa, All the best, PeterO "They don't want to understand the song of a bird", Picasso (I think) *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
