Doug asks:>> but I was wondering if you have had a chance to see the new CD Gulfstream. It has a nice skeg system that the designers took some time to tweek. Any comments?<< Haven't seen a new system by CD, tho their old system works quite well. The only problem I have with CD's skeg is the PITA it is to replace the cable. It's a grinder and rivit gun and at least an hour. I have done a VCP wire skeg in 10 minutes, in the field. Gotta agree with you about the intregal skegs. in over 25 knots they can be a real challenge, tho most folks are "onshore" _at_ 25+ knots! =:-o) steve Alder Creek Kayak & Canoe N 45º 39' 47" 250 NE Tomahawk Isle Dr. W 122º 36' 16" Portland, OR 97217 Web: www.aldercreek.com Phone: 503.285.0464 Email: aldercreek_at_qwest.net *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
