Hello Ron and PW, many thanks for the diagram of your loading device. I have a similar system, but made by Thule. I use their standard rectangular profile roof bars, with an add-on accessory which clamps to the front (or rear) bar and is telescopic with spring-loaded pegs that lock the telescopic extension in the extended or retracted position. To load, I lift the bow onto the extension, then the stern onto the rear roof bar, then slide the bow across until it aligns with the stern. With this set-up I can load my Nautiraid GR 520 (about 80lbs) onto my pickup which is higher than my head, without help. Best regards, Kevin. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ron Dunnington To: k.dyer_at_bluewin.ch Sent: Thursday, December 26, 2002 7:46 PM Subject: Kayak Loading Device Dear group, Here is a diagram of the device I use to load and unload my kayak on and off my minivan. I would like to say right off, I got the idea from somwhere else ..., I just can't remember where! *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
