I use Aquapac cases for my VHF radio and for my GPS. While both the radio and the GPS allegedly meet some standards of waterproofness, neither of the units floats. Unlike a previous poster I like the clip mechanism on the Aquapac cases. The one caveat is to be careful about opening the case on the water. The clip components are not securely fastened to the flexible case and they sink rapidly when dropped in the water. I modified the replacement clips by gluing them to the flexible plastic case and tethering them to the case. FMI on Aquapac see http://www.aquapac.net/ In situations where I want the GPS for track record only, I have put the GPS inside a hatch. Neither polyethylene nor composite layups have prevented the GPS from receiving the satellite signals.
