Hi Al,

I had a couple of dive slates that I also used for nav notes; their
biggest drawback being that I lost them...one in waves, one during roll
practice.

The vinyl on the foredeck is cheaper _and_ you won't lose it!  I did
like the little surgical rubber pencil keeper on my last dive
slate...maybe I'll make one of those for my new pencil and tie it to
the foredeck lines.
