[SNIP] Though I have no evidence to back this up, I have heard that using alcohol formulated for stove usage will cook cleaner (no soot) and hotter. I use a Trangia and do some serious cooking with it, in other words making full meals not just boiling water. I've been using Origo alcohol for years and have been really happy with it. Below is a link via West Marine. Again, I am not sure if it is better, but I have heard from people using regular denatured alcohol that they get less than stellar performance from their stoves. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&productId=13917 -Patrick *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
