With 10x, it is impossible to keep the image still; 8x is better and 7x is 
best from a kayak unless you're on flat water in a barge.  Roof prism 
binoculars are typically waterprooof; porro not so.  Not sure about these, 
but if you're planning to look at anything interesting for more than a few 
minutes at a time (wildlife, for instance) spending the extra money on a 
good mid-range binocular (especially if you wear glasses or want to look 
through sunglasses) is well worth it.
