    Reliability;  Toyota and Honda are consistently the top two.  Then
Subaru and Nissan.
    Toyota and Honda have a tendency to be underpowered, even with a
standard shift.  But, if bucking high winds and acceleration is not a
consistent concern, the RAV and CRV are good for hauling.
    It can make a difference where the vehicle is assembled, Japan or North
America.
    Subaru has a spotty record.  Some years and models are more reliable
than others.
    Unless you own the appropriate computer, it is hard to do your own
repairs on any of the newer cars.
