Flying in from the south last week reminded me I need to
paddle upstream of Willamette Falls. Can anybody recommend a
good day-paddle in rusticity? Close to PDX gets bonus
points.

I've got a new Epic mid-wing needs working.

LCRWT- Lower Columbia River Water Trail. goes right by PDX!

Tons of good paddling on the Columbia. If you need a boat we're right on
the river _at_ Tomahawk Island (east end of Hayden Is.) 15 minutes from the
airport.

Chinook landing loop, Washougal to Chinook, Chinook to Alder Creek, A C to
Ridgefield NWR, Bachelor Island loop, Vancouver lake/ Lake river, etc.

enough already?

Willamette Narrows/ Rock island is a nice paddle upstream from the Falls
(Put in West Lynn boat ramp off 12th street). A second choice and a little
farther form PDX is Ash island (put in Newberg at Rogers Landing at the end
of River Rd). If you decide to do Ash island and want some company give me a
heads up as it is practically in my back yard.
